Veneers Can Give You the Smile You’ve Always Wanted
Also known as porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates, veneers are wafer-thin shells that cover the front surface of your teeth. Veneers are made of tooth-colored materials that can be customized to your appearance. Veneers can change the color, shape, size, or length of your teeth through a simple bonding process.
Veneers are used to fix:
- Discolored teeth
- Worn down teeth
- Chipped, cracked, or broken teeth
- Misaligned, uneven, abnormally shaped teeth
- Gapped teeth
St. Bethlehem Dental can fix you up with a custom set of veneers in as easy as three visits – one for consultation and two to make and apply the veneers. Once your vision is in mind, we will examine your teeth to make sure veneers are your best option. To prepare your tooth, we will remove 0.5 millimeter of enamel from the surface. We will then make a model or impression of the tooth for the veneer. After about two to three weeks, the veneers will be custom made and ready to perfect your smile. When we make sure the veneer is the right fit and color for you, we will start the bonding process. A special cement is applied to the veneer, which is then placed on your tooth. A special light is then used to harden and cure the cement quickly. Finally, we will remove any excess cement, make sure you’re bite is good, and make any final adjustments to the veneers.
Veneers can give you that natural tooth appearance you’re looking for while remaining stain resistant. After about five to 10 years, veneers typically need to be replaced. Not requiring any special care, veneers can be just what you need to achieve the smile you’ve always wanted. Come and see what St. Bethlehem Dental can do for you!
